Sinartis has developed a portable syringe pump with  Li-Ion rechargeable battery using commercial syringes up to 20 cc in volume for subcutaneous very slow rate infusion in the pain treatment in terminally ill patients . The device injects micro-doses of drug in a time up to 48 hours with high precision and reliability.
