DMEK / DMDK 642

Digital Media Evaluation Kit

The new DM642 is the first DSP of the DigitalMedia family that is based on the powerful C64 core. Dedicated to audio and video markets, it integrates glue-less interface to video decoders and encoders and audio codec.

This new SoC (Sytem on Chip) reduces video systems costs while allowing reaching unequalled performance and flexibility levels.

The DMEK/DMDK642 boards take advantage of DM642 and offer enhanced features like: Real Time Clock, IDE interface (hard disk, CDROM, DVDROM drive management), complete UART on RS232 or RS422 interface, Ethernet and HPI. These boards were originally designed for a stand-alone use but PC104 interface is available on request.

The kit is available in two versions :

  • DMEK642 – Evaluation Kit: for DM642 and algorithms evaluation purpose

  • DMDK642 – Development Kit: complete reference design for development and prototyping with FPGA and high speed daughter board port.

This new kit supports Ateme’s complete software offer for audio and video compression.
